Hi, I have an 89 Sea Ray 23' with a 7.4l with a carter afb. When I am taking off there is a hesitation or hiccup at first and then accelerates fine. I was told that the power valve has different settings/notches that I should see where's it at and move it. Is this something that I should look into or what else could cause the issue? The carb was rebuilt last year and runs great other than that.

Ayuh,.... There's 3 holes in the arm, Try another 1.... it's the Accelerator pump,...

Edlebrock has a manual at their website that explains yer carb, in detail,... google 'em up...

Thanks Bond-o I wasn't sure if that was on the right path or not.

Try a hole closer to the shaft. That will give a bigger squirt from the accelerator pump. If that helps, then pump is getting weak (or there is crap in the check ball of the pump) and may be time for a carb rebuild / replacement in the near future.
