I just bought a brand new never in the water 7.5 hp gamefisher that a older woman had. Her husband passed away and never used it. It has been in her garage for years. She said it is a 1989 or 1990 and she didn't have the manual. The model number is 225.581751. My question is it has never been started so what is the oil mixture for engine Break In and how long do I need to use that oil mixture, whole tank or ? It says 50:1 on the engine but I don't think that is for break in. Any info will help on the year and break in. Thanks

Go to www.searspartsdirect.com. Plug in your model number. I believe they have the owners manual available for your engine. That will give you the break-in procedures.

If they don't have the manual, stick with the 50:1 ratio on the label, and use the engine at no more than half throttle for a couple of hours, varying the speed frequently. Then give it a couple more hours, with occasional runs up to full throttle and speed, but not for too long.

Once you get about 4 hours on that engine, consider it broken in and go for it.

Note: I checked and the owner's manual is available from that site. Click the Crankshaft and Piston component group and scroll to the bottom of the parts list. You'll also find that most other parts are available from that site.
