I have an older but new cond. 7.5 merc. Its the old motor with the older style coils from the 60s. Both cylinders have 135lbs. It runs great when cold but once warmed up, it seems to drop one cylinder. Last time out i did notice the portable fuel tank bulb pumps up but seems deflated. It never has pumped up rock solid. The bulb seems only half full of fuel. So ..im wondering if i have more than one issue here or two? I bought the engine with the ignition system fried and put used ignition parts from another used engine that ran great into this engine. Its had the same issues since replacing the parts. thanks

my guess (without any troubleshooting or testing) is you need a carb AND fuel pump rebuild with a new float and needle/seat
