Thanks for that.
My kill switch has a yellow/black wire and a black wire coming from it.
My switch box has an orange and a black wire coming from it.
My switch box part number is 339-6222A4

Just as a point of interest the compression is 130 psi in both cylinders so that part of the rebuild is good.

Well I put the "spare" wires to where seemed the most logical and referring to the diagram posted and we have spark to both cylinders !!!
We checked compression yesterday. Now to put the lower unit back in place and hook up a fuel line !!!!

Ken, the black/yellow is the new color for the kill wire the orange is the orginal color just hook them together and the kill switch should work.

Done that and thanks for the info.
I have compression, spark and fuel but unfortunately I think there is a blockage in the carb so off it comes tonight. Fuel to the float bowl and spits back through the carb if the bulb is given an extra squeeze or 2.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks again,
Ken.

Kill switch is now killing the spark when depressed so I think that it is hooked up correctly.

Re: 7.5 Mercury in pieces !!

I know it's been a while but I just got back to this project !!!!
The basement is looking better though since I spent time on it.
Next question.
Using this site.
http://www.usboatsupply.com/Mercury_Mercruiser_Parts_Catalog3a.php?mc=01&ms=900&si=297

Cylinder block and crankcase
Item 7 and 8.
Item 7 connects to the check valve and the carb.
Should item 8 be pulsing through to the carb ??? because it is not !!!
I have had the check valve off and it is functioning in a one way direction to the carb but I put a longer length of hose into a container of water and cranked the motor expecting to see some bubbles but alas no !!!
Is that why my plugs are not getting wet ???
Any and all responses are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken.

Ken. that is a bleed line not a pulse line and most attach to a fitting on the intake port cover at the top cyl. port.
