I have a 1973 (I believe) Ted Williams 7.5 HP motor, model 217-58881. The motor has not ran in over ten years. I decided to try and get it running recently, surprisingly it fired rite up only to die once the bowl ran out of fuel. I decided to read some of the threads posted on this forum and shore enough the fuel element was broken. I have cleaned the carb, replaced the carb gasket, as well as the gasket behind the small fuel plate on the carb and finally the small element itself. Unfortuneatley, once everything was put back together, the motor runs excellent, but it still wont suck fuel into the bowl. I had put a clear fuel line on the carb so that I can see what is going on. I can keep the motor running if I prime the fuel line once I see the fuel level drop, but it wont pull fuel into the bowl. I am stuck scratching my head on this one. If anyone has any idea on what to do, PLEASE HELP!!!
