'70 85hp chrys no spark/start

My boat has been sitting since 1989.<br />I am not getting spark to my plugs.Fire is getting to the motor. When I continuity light test the points and rotate the dist. the light stays on,withthe points open and closed...<br />Can i test the power pack or coil someway?<br />Help......<br />Bo

Disconnect the wire from the pts. to the power pack and arc it you should have spark if the pack is good
