My lower unit is leaking very little by one of the four bolts that hold the lower unit to the rest of the engine, I drained it out and had some water that came out fist then the oil, I did not disconnect the lower unit yet, now that i know there was water in there I'am not sure if i'am going to need a rebuilt on the lower end? Is it worth it? How much does it cost? How did the water get in there? Is it hard getting parts for it? Someone please help me out, any info will be greatly appreciated,

It is not un noral to get a little water in you lower unit. So if it wasn't giving you any trouble when you checked it it should be OK. Just get a seal kit and replace your old ones. While your at it replace your water impeller and if your unit has the teflon washers on your drain ans fill screws replace them to.

I have a 89 125 that is still running strong. My lower unit gets some water in it about every 30 hours or so. I am not going to put 2k into getting a rebuilt unit so I put $10 bucks into it every month or so, and change the oil. Unless you get milky oil after every trip out you should be fine.

You don't need to spend thousands to fix water intrusion.
A seal kit for $55, a repair manual for $35, and a couple evenings in the garage, should take care of it.
