70 HP Chrysler outboard need ID plz

i'm not sure if i got the right numbers of the outboard (the only ones i could find, was below the ignition assembly)<br />Model # 6CB2003<br />Ser # 71108<br />i did look at one model guide, but it didn't match any of the model #'s (they all mostly had an H in them), could someone possibly id this for me plz.<br />I also tried starting it today, but i wasn't getting a spark, checked for voltage at the coil, didn't have any, i followed the wires to a 3x4 inch box (some sort of voltage reg? or ignition), i was getting voltage to this box, but not after it to the coil when i cranked it over, any thoughts?<br /><br /> thks =)

Hi Mike<br />Sorry you do not list the proper numbers. Keep looking. Try looking for a plate on the inside, front, starboard corner of the lower cowling. The model number will start with "70" or "T70".

As with Most of the Chrysler ignition..you do not really need the model number. If you have a distributor on it you have the normal CD ignition.<br /><br />It is not uncommon for the large powerpack to die on these.<br /><br />The coil connects to the powerpack.<br /><br />If there is a blue wire running to the distributor you have a preamp..if just a white/black then you have points.<br /><br />TMD

Great thks Doc, =) i'll check as soon as the rain lets up, btw i noticed your in SK, i'm just a province over in wpg. maybe i could order what i need from you guys? and anything else u would recommend e.g new coil, points etc. This is my 1st boat (some guy traded it to me for installing central air in his house lol) so i expect to be visiting this site alot =). thks again Alcan & Marine
