Marauderk, is your vent open???. I've been there and done that. Also, clean plugs are not good, and they usually indicate a small amout of water entering the combustion chamber and steam cleaning the plug. Have you noticed any steam coming out with the exhaust? Could be a blown head gasket (easy to fix) or a blown exhaust gasket(s) (not easy to fix).

:) the vent is open not that i have not forgot to open one in the past lol.

Well the plugs are not clean clean as in steam cleaned :) i had my headgasket go in my 35 hp and know what to look for now on that lol.

The motor ran great for about 5 min and slowly slowed down till it would run only at idle speeds then i did all the work to her and now it will go about half throttle before boggin badly.

only thing i have not replaced or rebuilt on the engine is the coils and powerpack

Marauderk, is it hot? is your cooling system working? I sucked in a plastic bag last year and the engine bogged down without the warning horn going off...

Marauderk, How did you make out on the coils and power pack? I am having similiar problems with my 65hp. I am curious to see what you found out? My coils were cracked so I replaced them. I can now get about half throttle out of it. Before I could not even get the bow in the air. Thanks.

I am having the same problems with my 1975 70hp johnson. I've replaced all lines have good spark, tried several tanks and still get the problem after i run for about 5 minutes at wide open. Anything you find would be extremely helpful to me because I'm going nuts about this thing.

Did you replace the gaskets when cleaning the carbs? I had a similar problem from reusing the small o ring gasket inside the bowl. I bought new o rings earlier and they weren't in the bag when I got home to do the carbs, so I reused the old. It didn't run right and I ended up putting in new o rings later. That solved the problem.

Another thing happened once after rebuilding omc carbs. The connector link popped out of the plastic keeper on the bottom carb. The motor ran but not good. You may want to check those links.

OK looks like it was one of the coils getting hot and not putting out the right voltage replaced them and running like a champ.

Thank you everyone for the help
Brian
