70 HP short shaft

Hi

I have a 55 short shaft 1980 and wonder if it is possible to replace the powerhead with a 70 long shaft?

It seams to be impossble to find a 70 short shaft atleast in Sweden, I have only seen a Stinger short shaft on sale but sadly I missed it

Go on Evinrudes website and check the base gasket and driveshaft to see if it will work. But even if it does the lower unit probably won't hold up. The shortshaft stingers were only meant for very light boats. They used a version of the 2 cylinder lower and they did not hold up well.

A 3 cylinder powerhead will not fit on a 2 cylinder mid section.--------And the spline on the 2 cylinder driveshaft will not fit in the 3 cylinder crankshaft either.
