1992 70hp Johnson outboard, we had a bad bout of watered gas, weve changed the gas, new water seperator filter, rebuilt the three carbs, the fuel pump is working ok (fuel in the carbs, and out the cylinders).
It wont start. It trys. New plugs 3 times, its got good spark to the three cylinders, compression is 110,120,and 110 respectivly. ....I have fuel+ (mist)coming out of the bottom cylinder with the plug out.(more than the top 2 cylinders) Thought it might be fuel water and crap in the intake manifold...cant find the drain plug......................Anyone?????????:I

Take some premix in a spray bottle and shoot some directly into the throat of the carbs and see if it will fire. If it does, your have fuel flow problems and probably need to go back into the carbs.

If it don't fire, recheck the spark to each hole. Not just holding the spark plug against the block....but check and make sure the spark will jump at least a 1/2" gap with a hot lighting like spark.

Did you drain all the fuel lines on the engine that may have held water?

Did the engine backfire at any time? I mean out through the exhaust?

EDIT: Nuts...hit the button too soon.....if the engine has backfired, pull the flywheel and check the flywheel key.

check compression.you've got spark and fuel if the spark and fuel are proper. agree with jim about flywheel, will throw timing off.
