Just a little to test. Good luck -- think you'll get it. (link to Mastertech wiring diagrams up at the top of the forum -- might help for checking and troubleshooting.)

oldboat1...just tried mix directly in spark plug holes and still nothing. I was really hoping you were onto something. Any ideas on a bad (new) rectifier being the problem? Also, I am sure I have the 3 yellow wires from the stator in the original locations. But if I don't does it make a difference since there is no color distinction between those wires? They are all 3 the same.

Rectifier is not your problem will have not effect on the motor running. The charging system is separate from the stator assembly that fires the ignition.

Change your plugs as may be fouled from seafoam. Index the flywheel and check timing on each cylinder to see if its firing correctly. (1-2-3) as it may be wired (3-2-1)

Faztbullet, I will change plugs in the morning. Are you saying that the power pack could be wired backwards. I'm not sure I understand because it won't even start with the original power pack even though it was only firing 2 cylinders. Please understand that I am not questioning anyone's suggestions, I am simply trying to understand the thought behind them. This is gonna sound novice but how do I index the flywheel. All I know is that it goes on lined up with the key. You are talking way above my head. Is this something I can do "under my shadetree?" Or is it time to take it to a shop?

Let me add that I have tried everything that has been suggested. Any questions I have asked were not meant to question anyone's knowledge or expertise, I was simply trying to learn by what they were saying. If anyone has gotten they're feelings hurt by my willingness to learn then I apologize. I welcome any and all suggestions and will try anything that I haven't already done. I know the value of the knowledge on this forum but I shouldn't be made to feel like an ingrate for just asking a question.
