70hp Rude is surging at WOT

E70TLCRD I just had the motor serviced by a qualified service center. They cleaned the carbs and did the link and sync. They gave me a A+ on the motor.
I took it out for the first time after the service and noticed a surge i.e. good bog good bog at WOT.
When I pushed the key choke every couple of seconds it was running great.
I'm thinking fuel pump or?
Any thoughts?

If that is a slow surge up and down, it would be fuel related.... and you've pretty well said as much by improving the performance by pushing the key in.

Usually, although a fuelp could be failing, that is usually caused by a fuel leak somewhere such as a fuel connector O Ring leaking slightly, loose or cracked hose, etc, which would cause the fuel pump to draw air.

hmmm, so first check the oring. I don't see any o rings on the connectors, are they inside? I see them in the manual but I can't see where they would fit!

do you know any one you could borrow a hose from. the rings are a pita, you have to push the piston back and hook the ring, the work the new on in. borrow a hose, if it fixes it buy an new hose or just replace the connector.

I was wondering how the primer bulb works. Is there a one way valve inside only allowing the fuel to head to the carbs and not back into the tank?Because the one I have seems to go either way when I pump the bulb with hoses disconnected / just air.

Well I changed the fuel line from 1/4" to 3/8 line and a new bulb and inline filter. Now when I pump the bulb it gets nice and hard and stays that way. Hopefully this has fixed the surging problem. We will see.
