I have a 18' 1974 Cobalt open bow runabout. Great Boat! I'm updating the steering with the kit from Go2Marine which includes everything from the steering wheel to the tube that attaches to the out drive. It's my understanding however, that the kit does not contain the O ring that goes in the "clam shell" that the brass ball seats against. I'm having a hard time locating that exact O ring, as the old one is cracked and leaks. Any Ideas? Part number? Thanks in advance!

It's a 1974 OMC Stringer 190hp outdrive. There is a nasty snowstorm moving in, but if I can beat it, I'll try and find the serial number. Where do I look? There is a pretty similar photo on a thread entitled thru transom clam shell leak. Thanks for the response!

Okay, just to update... I was able to order this seal through the Colorado Boat center, and after a good deal of searching the net myself, I found it on Ebay as well. The part number is 0121669. I believe the company that bought out OMC is BRP? Anyhow, there ya go for anybody else that runs into the problem.
