'71 50 hp Johnson not firing

Our 1971 50 horse johnson is not getting electricity to the spark plugs. We disconnected the internal wiring harness and tried jump starting it to make sure it wasn't an external wiring problem. Then we installed a new power pack and it didn't help. So we put the old power pack back on and installed a new stator. It still didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible that the stator and power pack both went bad at the same time? THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE!

It is possible to purchase a powerpack that was dead off the shelf. I have had to warranty such powerpacks.<br /><br />Have you disconnected the kill wire from the powerpack?<br /><br />TMD
