New to me. I had this running yesterday for the first time on the water. I was having I think an overheating problem. Next day in the drive I am set up for testing. Now no spark. New battery, strong cranking. I have done a spake plug removal and site tested while grounded and cranking. Power pack on the back (amp?) has power to 8 and 9. There is a wire hanging down from a small group that leads up to the throttle arm that moves with it ,maybe the position sensor. Need a step by step.

I would suggest you remove the flywheel.-----Clean and set breaker points at 0.010"--Check anti-reversing spring.-----Clean rotor and distributor cap.
