Hello, Mates.
Picked up this boat and motor from bben76. He got a newer boat (the scaliwag), and I bought the old Ebbtide off of him. Anyway, I went ahead and did the conversion from the amp and coil setup to the car coil, condenser and ballast setup. I got the thing to crank over and run, but will not stay idle. I've read through a bunch of different scenarios on here. Set the plugs at .035, .040. Change plugs to Champion J4C's. Set the points at .010, .020. I just haven't gotten a straight answer on the complete process, and I'm hoping some of you might be able to help. According to bben, it was running fine before this spark problem. I've attached pics of the conversion, just in case anyone needs that. Thanks much.
