72 125hp Johnson lower unit... water,oil

Went to change oil in lower unit and there is water getting in the oil. Is this bad? Do I need a gasket for the lower unit? No were in the service manual does it say so, I am unaware. Do I need to drop the unit? and help would be nice thank you.<br /><br />Wait also when I shut engine off it makes like this clicking noise first fast to slow as engine comes to a stop. ?????

JT,<br /><br />Don't sweat it.<br /><br />Yes. water in LU is bad.<br /><br />However, most LU leaks are at the fill/drain plug seals.<br /><br />Go to your local John/Rude dealer and buy a few lower unit drain/fill plug seals and install them, with new fluid.<br /><br />Run the unit and recheck.<br /><br />By the way, that "electric" lower unit requres a special fluid called: Premium Blend. It is available only at John/Rude dealers, to my knowledge. Anything else will cause problems.
