Points are not listed for this engine online, is it points ignition? I felt certain it was but now I'm wondering. Would like to know before I remove the flywheel and start something unnecessary just for a Spring tune up.

Timmie's in the well Lassie, go for help !

Your engine has Magneto CD ignition - no points. I recommend purchasing an OEM service manual. Having one will assist you in understanding what parts your engine has and what items need to be accomplished during periodic maintenance. OEM manuals are available via a number of online sources.

You can also find parts diagrams at www.shop.evinrude.com. Select the "Parts" tab and then lookup your specific motor.

Thank You for the help, I did finally find a break out view and see the stator coil.

I have a service manual but it's apparently not a good one! It did not even mention torque spec's... I'll find a GOOD ONE now.

Thanks again!

Go for an OMC manual. The aftermarket manuals usually try to cover way too many engines to provide decent information on any one of them.
