'72 65hp Johnson lift ring

Heys folks, quick question. My transom is in need of replacing and I'm wondering if I can pull my motor off using the cylinder lift ring on top of the motor. Or is that used just for pulling the cylinder block off? Thanks in advance for any helpful hints.

if you have a lift ring use it. that is what it is for.
