I have a '72 or '73 Johnson, 65 horse that has no spark. I think it might be the power pack, but I'm not sure. I have bought a new sierra aftermarket part, but in the process of redoing the wiring harness I want to make sure that all the wires are in the right position. It has 6 posts on each side with the upper right post empty. Does anyone know what the others go to? Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Also, the wire colors are not factory.

Corey

Here you go. If you end up scrapping the motor for any reason, let me know. I need the crankshaft.

Corey check your coils also, being that old they may have cracks on them

One more question, How do you tell which is which on the powerpack? The Diagram has it labled 1-12 BUT I have that Sierra powerpack that is not exactly the same as the OMC. The only thing I can find in common with them is that the Sierra and OMC have a notch on top, is this right? I would hate to put it in upside down.... Also, are they numbered right side top to bottom them left? Thanks.

Corey

I'm not sure how you can tell which way up it should go. As far as numbering, the numbers go 1 through 6, top to bottom, on the back (coil) side, and 7 through 12, top to bottom, on the front side. So number 7 is the one that's vacant.

reach
