72 evinrude, 4hp, gift from a great neighbor! awaken after 30 years.

those of you who know me, knows that i have this, ummm, thing for older evinrudes. they look cool, run good, and are pretty quite and smooth for 2 strokes.
so, jeff is cleaning out his outside storage and asks if i wanted his dads old evinrude?
i laugh, he laughs, then i follow him to the storage shack. there in the corner is this dirty and dusty ol evi. i try not to grab n run, so i try my hardest to walk slowly across the court.
here she is, all cleaned. pristine 1972 evi 4hp. i changed the impeller and the lower unit was like new. the water pump was new, the impeller was still soft, but it was bent.
hooked it up to the gas tank, second pull she fires.
god i love nice peeps! now i gotta figure out how to mount it on the bayliner. she has a matching 72' merc on a 86 hull. btw, the plugs are original, you can see the blue overspray.

ps, not braggin or anything, just so happy i could just scream. too bad my wife and kids dont share the enthusiasm as i do :'(

ok guys, just to let yall know, dont you give your neighbors a hand when needed? i have 4 houses on the end of the street, and the guy across the way (in the picture) i have helped in minor remodel and plumbing. i also gave him a bunch of stuff of the job, old sinks, toilets. not old stuff, just rich peeps left overs, hahaha. here in norcal, peeps buy beautiful homes and then tear them apart bc they dont like either the granite, or the color of the marble, etc...no i have a crappy house with a old bayliner with a old motor and im old too hahaha.
i guess he had forgotten about the motor since he moved in 15 years ago.
