Well, I just got my first gas engine after my Min-Kota 40# proved too weak to go upstream on the river. I bought a 4hp Evinrude Lightwin of 1972 vintage. Model is 4206S and it is the weedless version.
Took it out on the lake a couple days ago and it ran great.
Went to the river today, and immediately snapped the sheer pin on the prop.
Got home and took it apart. It looks as if there is a white plastic part inside the prop that needs to come out to install the new pin, but I can't figure out how to get it out. It is cracked as well, so I really don't want to force it. Does anyone have a step-by-step for replacing this pin?
Also, a good resource for finding replacements?
