I've decided to do an internal investigation as to the condition of this fuel system. Before I dig in, I want to here what everbody has to say! Can I get new fuel lines if rotted on the inside, how about new screen filters, if needed, I'm willing to go begining to end if needed but, not 'till I here from fellow iboaters.

i don't understand your question. are you talking about on the engine, or an built in tank. being a 72 and it's never been done it is time to renew all the rubber.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with this statement. The guys here are the best I have found and have helped immensely.
That being said, monk, are you talking about the screen filter in the fuel tank or the carb? Did you get a manual yet?

Yes, I have a manual and I'm reading and learning a bunch. By screen filter I meant the one on the carb, that I hear is unavailable. Can it be soaked in cleaner and blown out w/ an air hose if, i need and can't get them. And if I start on this fuel system I'm not doing all that disassembly and leave an old part in it. Like my Mother always says, " If its worth doing , then do it right"

Monk-monk, If you have "Back-drag" carbs, there is a stainless screen under the brass fittings screwed into the carb bowl covers. They should be clean, but check them. They will clean up, since I think they are indestructible. Change all the fuel lines, the balance lines between the manifolds and the small line that connects the lower main bearing with the upper meain bearing. Clean the check valves this hose is attached to. Clean the screen in the fuel pump (single fuel pump only)
