how does one make sure the timing belt installation is correct? the seloc manual just seems to make things confusing! what marks am i looking for on the flywheel and what mark on the distributor pulley? and what is the alignment procedure, seloc tells me to do this-that-and-the-other-thing AFTER removing the belt...if it was correct in the first place and ran fine why does seloc tell me to do all this stuff AFTER removing the belt...im confused, thanks Seloc (LOL)...iboats to the rescue!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of seloc... Wonderful, because you are always full of wonder about what they mean.... Bin the seloc and buy the Merc manual.

In the meantime, here's a scan from mine....

Chris.........
