I just aquired a 15' Aquarian tri-hull bowrider with 72 merc 650. I read on the forum some of the tri hulls are dogs but this one doesn't have too deep a V and planes within couple seconds. It has 160/160/155 compression and seems to start and run OK except:<br /><br />1/ I ran at a 'fast troll' for about 1 hour plus due to rough water when returning to the marina from camping a couple weeks ago. I am worried I carboned the hell out of it. It never idled great but now won't idle for long at all. I have to have the fast idle lever most or all the way 'up' to keep it running. It dies after about 2 seconds of sputtering when I lower idle to put it in gear. I am concerned about abusing it as I have to run it in neutral at fast idle then put it in gear, drop the idle and hammer the throttle at the same time to keep it running and pull away. Also, at holeshot it misfires first few seconds. Seems to run fine at WOT. Planes easy even when running rough. Should I start with Seafoam treatment and go from there? Next steps would be idle setting? <br /><br />2/ Speed: 11 3/4 X 12 for working and an 11 X 13 for light load running per Michigan Wheel's book. I Don't have power tilt/trim so am trying different peg settings - first and second (closest to teh transom) to date - I think I could get more speed by trying the third? I hope to add power tilt & trim this week. Suggestions on set up?<br /><br />3/ How do I hook up the VDO tach that came with it but wasn't wired?
