I have recently purchased a boat which has a 72' 65 hp motor and mercontrols. Can anyone help me to properly start my motor with the controls? The Mercontrol is mounted to the drivers side of the boat. The Mercontrol has two levers on it. 1) on the inside of the control consul, which is smaller and shorter than the other. 2) The second lever is taller and is closer to the driver of the boat.
I am guessing that the taller lever closer to the driver is the foward/neutral/reverse lever and the smaller lever to the inside of the consul is the choke?
Can anyone direct me on the best way to choke, start, and how long to let my motor warm up before using?
Just not sure how much choke to put on, how long to leave the choke on for, should I start in neutral?
Thanks
