Re: '73 115 Evinrude - How to Open Control box to replace key switch?
mind you I am not looking over your shoulder... a picture of the shifter/throttle box would be useful.... several would be great from multiple angles...
part of the reason you may not have gotten an answer is there are alot of different boxes out there.... made by several companies and each company modified or updated their offering as time went, as well as often offering several options. What I can tell you without a picture is be careful, go slowly, take pictures... take more pictures... make notes... draw diagrams... because when you do get it open there cams springs....sometimes detent balls.... and wires all in there. I am sure that I don't need to point it out... but if you get things backwards... or wrong you will not be happy. If you have for sure removed every screw/bolt/fastener it is often worthwhile to check under the decals as well for possible hidden screws. Then consider that there may very well be a bit of corrosion, stickem... or deposits that hold the parts together... suggest that when you get it apart you relubricate all the parts that obviously were lubricated....these should be obvious due to the dry, or wet lubricant on them. If you have any trepidations I would suggest you post pics and ask then wait for answers.
