73 20hp johnson part swap/search

im trying to locate parts for my motor. such as the carb assembly.starter motor, and the recoil. is there any other years that i can take any of these parts and use on mine?

Starter and bracket from about 1958 to 1976 will fit.----Note ONLY the 22 cubic inch 18 , 20 and 25 HP will fit.----Wonderful parts interchangeability on them.

thank you! i found a 69 20 that the guy is basically giving the parts away(compared to new) my main concern is the carb assembly. part#0384530 i found that part on ebay for 120. if i can use one off this 69 it will save me 100 buck. i have been searching and searching for the answer.

The 1969 was the first year for the screaming 25 HP model.---I think the 25 HP carb will fit but won't magically up the power of your 20 HP.----A few other tricks were used on the 25 ( better balanced crank ) is but one difference to run at 6000 RPM.

?? don't you need 0385990 for an exact '73 match?
I would get the '69 carb 0383725 for $20 -- but won't see that number on the carb, only numbers for parts of carb assembly.

i dont know the part number i need for an exact proper match. the only thing i came up with in my search is the 0384530 number. just cause the sale post said will work vfor a 73. that is a un researched refrence........ if the 69 will work on my 73 thats all i need to know. its not just the carb. i lost all the linkedge and silencer plate blah blah. so needing the whole assembly
