Found a nameplate with a serial# that looks a lot like a composite of model# + serial#: 25302A E0008009

Some neanderthall stripped the flywheel nut. Consequently, the flywheel lifted enough to shear the woodruff key.
The nut LOOKS to be a 1/2" - 20 X 3/4" wrench size. Picked up a replacement from Fastenal, but it refuses to fit. Dug out my 1/2" - 20 die with the notion to clean up the threads on the crank. *FAIL* Couldn't get the die started either.

I'm wondering if the crank thread/size has some oddball proprietary sspecs.
My local boat shop looked up the Evinrude part# for the nut: 301988
Thanks

I don`t know what the thread specs are but i would get a new factory nut and check it with your taps to get the correct spec for the die to clean up the crank threads.
