73 Johnson 50hp powershift lower unit oil?

I have a 73 Johnson 50hp powershift and I have been using the type "C" lower unit oil. I have been told there is different types for differ LU.

Is that right and am I using the right oil? I beleave I'am but rather be safe than sorry.

Type C is now called "Premium Blend Gearcase Oil". From your BRP/ Evinrude or Johnson dealer.

Ok great but is it the right type of oil for my motor?

Starting with the 1973 models, Hi-Vis was reccommended. However, Premium Blend was approved as a substitute if Hi-Vis is not available.
