I have the LU off awaiting a part. In the meantime, working on other things. My question is, can I run the engine without the LU if I hook up a water supply to the water tube from the water pump to the engine without causing harm? I flushed the system this way the other day without cranking but didn't know if it would hurt to run it without any load as long as I had water supply and good flow from telltale.

Thanks for the warning. I shall not start my motor without a load!
