Hi, I purchased an eska 5hp last year and while it starts and runs it has an issue. The carburetor vent seems to airlock after running for a very short while.

The engine runs at full power and then bogs down considerably. When I stop the engine and attempt to start it again I have to blow air into the carb vent to get it to start. I'm new to outboards and would appreciate any help with this.

Check your fuel pump bladder for a crack
Appreciate the reply. I finally took some time check it out and the bladder is perfectly intact.

For some reason the lines always get backed up with air from the carb and the primer bulb doesn't do anything to push the air through. I have not tried running the engine out of an external tank, could this solve my problem?
