I think I am having issues with my ignition switch and want to replace but I can not just pop it out to replace. Do I need to take my remote control completely apart in order for the change or is there any short cuts. There is a horn (I think it is a warning device) in my way and I cannot just drop it out of the proper spot. Any suggestions. I have taken the lower half off and can see the wires, the horn like thingy and my control lever anchors. I was thinking it would just drop out. By the way is this horn like gadget a warning device, what would it warn me of too hot maybe? There was a time recently the engine not running it started to blare and I took lower half off and jiggled wires and it stopped. so I am thinking I might have wires loos there.
Reason for wanting to change the ignition switch is when cruising along the water I would jiggle the key and the boat slows to near half the speed I was going. I think there might be loose wire or corrosion.
I noticed tonight after tinkering with it I now have a light at my Speedo that I didn't have there before, so I am leaning again some loose or corded wires in the system under or in the remote control panel.
Thanks for your help.
