'74 Johnson 4 HP Rewind Starter Issue

OK,

I took apart my rewind starter to clean, lube, and increase tension...but I cannot figue out how to best tension the spring or where to place the outside loop of the spring. I think I've stirred a hornet's nest!?

Anybody have some insight or a picture?

Here is a "coles Notes" description of how to do the job. Next time take some pictures before you start. I sure wish I had the first time.LOL Best of luck. Rick.
