74 Lightwin Fuel Pump

Hi Guys,
I just picked up a 74 4hp lightwin.
Its sucking air from the fuel pump and I'd like to try and rebuid it before just replacing it.
The earliest year I'm seeing a rebuild kit available is 81.
Any chance I can use that or maybe even use a newer year pump altogether?

I had the case on mine crack and JB welded it and it has done fine, you can also get gasket material at any auto parts store if it is the gasket.

I was going to jb it just to get the next trip in but it held so why spend the money eh?
