could anyone identify the wires in the harness? the color code would be great. thanks

also wanted to know if not having the limit switch bolt, bracket and adjusting nut on the right side of the outboard could cause the down drifting of the trim tilt?

Tiny, The removal of the trim limit switch et. al will have no effect on the trim system "leaking down". As for the color code of the wires, that info is likely available on line and certainly available in the manual. Here are the ones I remember. White: Ignition and power for instruments on the dashboard, Yellow: Starter Solenoid, Brown: Tachometer signal, Red: battery voltage, Back: Ground. I do not remember the color of the choke solenoid wire.

Hi tiny, <br /><br />check this for the trim that doesn't "hold" the motor: on mine, i fix it by changing the 3 o-rings of the relief valve (they have cracks). Cost:less than 1$.<br /><br />Hope it could help.
