Well I thought I was gonna get to go out this weekend.LOL.I started the motor up Friday morning after getting all the little things to have it idle a little better and the rod cap on # 1 cyl.must have come loose and cracked the block on both sides of the crankcase halves,I guess those bolts that were missing in the halves of # 1 cyl. had been sucking air for a long time and smoked the bearing.Whats weird is the motor never knocked or rattled??? Just wouldnt idle in gear and would stall at an idle.I was gonna rebuild it at tax time but looks like it changed my mind sooner, any thoughts? George

Hi George<br />I'm not sure what thoughts your looking for. I can't see your motors damage, so it's hard to make a very accurate appraisal of the situation. From your discription it sounds like this rascal is a scraper. True your crank cases may be welded up and the crank shaft repaired. I am fairly sure that the cost of the parts and machine work would far excede the cost of a repacement motor.
