Hmm. Is the hole you point to in pic the carb chamber vent? Connects to top of float chamber if it is. Can't see why covering it would cause it to run better.. it should just stop the carb from filling.. as the fuel coming into the carb would create pressure in the chamber if not vented. Did you kit the carb.. w/new nozzle gasket?

It does seem like a vent. Rebuilding the carb is one of the first things I did and it did come with a new nozzle gasket.

I believe there is an issue / blockage in the carburetor !!

I let the carb soak in carb cleaner and blew it out with my compressor. Then rebuilt it.

it takes more than just soaking to get that carb as clean as it needs to be. ya gotta soak it, spray it with cleaner, might need some picking with thin wire, blowing it out. i'm local and might be able to help u out. sent the PM again, check it out

I finally figured it out. For some reason there was a lead shot in the high speed vent. I never thought about it because they all looked legit and I never payed much attention to them. Anyways, she is running like a scalded dog now.
