Would a spray grease like white lithium work or would it be too thick to work it's way along the cable?

I'm thinking it would not travel down the cable far enough. I think my cable is about 16 feet. I wanted to get some lube down as far as it would go.

The shaft thruogh the upper housing was "corroded".

Removed the sterring pulleys. Thanks mahoney.
Pryed out the shaft,sanded,oiled. reinstalled.
Steers like new!!!!!

Oh yeah...Squirted WD in both ends of the cable.
Worked it back and forth, seems good8)8)
