I have chrysler 75 hp (1980). I guy is selling a good force 85 hp (1988). How much better and faster will it be. I can go 32mph now on flat water. And my 75 hp runs very good.
you are only increasing the hp by 11% and that is if the 85hp motor is running tip top shape. I would guess you will only see a slight difference maybe 3 to 5 mph if you are lucky. But if it is a good 85hp then it never hurt to have a spare.
Yeah, Cory. The extra ten HP will not make much difference on your boat in top speed. If you are pulling a skier, though, it will be quicker out of the hole. But unless he is giving you a great deal ( refresh my memory---I didn't offer you an 85, did I?) or unless you want to play with the engine--- But, It's your money and you make the call.
Ya frank you did, But my head was still good so we did not go that route. I guy was sell one with everthing for 400.00. But I'll pass on it, since is not going to do much for me. My motor runs like a dream. Thanks Frank.
