Hey guys

I changed my prop at the start of the season and noticed my boat didnt have the same power, it wasnt an improvement on the old prop.

So today i re-fitted the old prop and took it out, and it was worse. When i give it the beans it sort of hesitates for a second then goes, and takes a while to put the nose down. Also top speed is down to 25 knots last year i getting close to 40 at times

Its ok for inflatables but impossible to ski behind. I serviced the boat myself this year, changed gear oil and impeller. Also i have drained the petrol/any water from all 3 carbs via the drain plug and sprayed in some carb cleaner, so i'm pretty happy they are clean. I did this because the first time i took it out it was kangarooing a bit, but this solved this problem.

The boat was fine at the end of last season and was stored in a garage throughout the winter.

Its a 1999 75hp merc 2 stroke

Anyone any ideas what the issue could be, or anything i can try, also spark plugs where replaced last season ?

Thanks

Re: 75HP Merc Down on Power

ill check the fuel lines and pressure. do you think the issue may still lie in the carbs, is it worth dismanteling each on individually and cleaning it that way

thanks
