Hey fellars....

Newb here. What a great site. I just purchased my first used boat a 1973 Larson Shark 1550 open bow. The motor from what I've gathered is a 1976 85HP E-Rude 4 stroke outboard. It's been completely reworked & runs like a champ!

My question is....

What's the fuel mix ratio for the sucker? It has a 6.6 gallon fuel tank. What type of oil do I use to mix with the fuel?

Thanks. And once again, GREAT SITE!!!

Thanks a million! Any recommendation on brands and where I purchase the stuff online as I don't have many marine stores nearby?

Personally I buy the cheapest TCW-3 I can buy as I go through a bunch of it. I buy Motomaster, which is the Canadian Tire brand for $15CAD / 4 liters. I'm sure there are better oils out there but you are safe as long as its TCW-3.

Nearly any place that sells oil, has TC-W3? outboard oil - Wal-Mart, service station, auto parts, etc. Asking which brand is like asking should the next president be a Republican or Democrat. You don't even want to go there. As long as it is TC-W3? it should be OK.

If it says TCW-3 or TCW3, run from it. It must say TC-W3?
