hey i have a question i hope someone can help me out. i just got a 76 searay srv200 this weekend and cant get it to start. i just replaced the ignition switch and battery. it seems like no power is reaching the switch because the wires have no reading. i am completly new to owning a boat and am not familiar all too well with electronics. i am pretty handy with everything else. i figured that their had to be a blown fuse somewhere or maybe a bad wire? what do you guys think. is the wire that goes into the "b" part of the ignition switch the battery wire? thanks
corey

With battery connected do the lights work or the horn blow?

If yes - is the boat in neutral? (Try jiggling the throdle handle)

the horn and lights do not come on, nothing happens with any accessory. i figured it is def not the neutral safety switch. what do you think i should do, also where would ciruit breakers and fuses be located. i want to check these first. thanks
corey

Hey Corey....sounds like your battery is not grounded, check to make sure everything is hooked up properly there.

Jim

yea its weird, i have what looks like almost a second cable that goes along with the negative cable. that wire is black and gray, it is split off, one end goes with the negative cable and the other end is just hangin loose in the battery compartment. the wire could form a "y" and it heads into the engine compartment somewhere. kind of weird, what do you think that wire is for and what should i do with the part of it that is just hanging. maybe that is where the problem lies. thanks
corey
