got seals for the prop shaft need to know how to get old seals out of the gearcace head assembly and new in, cant see if gearcase comes apart if so where! also my needle bearings came out driveshaft bearing ordered new can i try to put needles backin or knock out old race and install new, manual calls for tool#380655 my book is showing nothing on thepropshaft seals thanx for any help!!!

marineengine.com or boats.net have diagrams of your motor...your lower unit comes apart at the upper and lower shell seam...with the lower unit off the motor, you can invert the lower unit..split the seam...and it all comes apart pretty simply...the propshaft seals..howerver you can w/o scratching the bearing head or propshaft..put back in by tapping in with a piece or pvc pipe or socket...I believe you're supposed to replace the bearing head w/seals as a unit...probably a slap hammer to remove that upper d/s bearing....which manual do you have?

Altn i have org. evinrude service manual. and lower apart, can pull gearhead assy.off i can see seal(s) in gearhead seals in the rebuild kit look correct,my i need to replace gearhead assy. that is over $100 piece. thanx for lookin! any other ideas? still need to deal with drive shaft bearing too.

thanx jasper helped a bit. others havin same problem all helps nothin about it in my $50+ service manual grrr!

gone to try knocking the outer washer out or off to get to the seal??
