Hey guys, I have this 1977 Evinrude 35 HP, model # 35EL77C I inherited last year as a graduation gift and had it running last season and it's a runner for sure.
This season I'm dedicating to restoring another motor I've found and putting work into this one and came across this?
The PO said it was like that from when he got it and it gave him no problems so he didn't touch it, they mentioned if put in reverse the motor sometimes would lift up. I'd rather know why it's there so I can possibly fix it. Is it possible there's a bearing bad or something similar?
Also any recommendations on paint to do everything on it completely?
