I've never replaced my water pump and/or impeller on my boat (I've owned it for 14 years). From reading all the posts related to this subject it looks like I probably should - even though they seem to be working fine. I don't own a service manual, could someone tell me the basic steps involved in replacing them? Also, does this motor have a fuel pump and filter, if so where are they located.

You should have a manual and the OMC manuals are the best. The procedures to do the water pump are quite clear. You can buy one here:

http://www.theoutboardwizard.bizhosting.com/parts_service_and_owners_manuals.html

as well as a number of other places. Most libraries have them also in the reference section.

And yes your motor does have a fuel pump & filter. Follow your fuel line to locate.
