No real work done but I've got a fishing report. Went to Cold Lake again and the boys each caught a legal laker. The first one is a the pic and the second one was 8.25 lbs...both were pretty close in size.

The boat performed beautifully again and handled some pretty big wakes that we hit head on. I'm pretty happy to have rebuilt the boat as it was a great choice. The starboard that I used to mount the transducer was also a great choice as the hull is as dry as a done with no chance of a transom leak from screw holes.

Hoping to finish the engine cover resize this week. Hopefully I'll get the boat out one more time or so and then the dash gets torn down for a rebuild in alum.

Sweet pic. We had a ton of f-18 fighters in the air. Next time I'll hang out longer to catch more of those jets. Not sure how close I can get to the base to watch some takeoffs.

Here's a pic taken by my backseater of water skiing a Tornado down a picturesque Canadian river. We never flew below 100ft... well not all the time anyway! :D

Sprinter, just go to the main gate and politely ask the security guys if there's a viewing area. Some bases have them and some don't and it was so long ago I can't remember if Cold Lake did or didn't. If there is (they may even let you know if there's an unofficial one) and as long as you don't look like Yasser Arafat they should be cool with your asking them. Good luck.

Thanks man. Next step is once the snow starts melting over here I'm gutting the dash areas and rebuilding with a dash made of aluminum.

This year is the year of fishing :)

Hey! You need to post up some interior shots, I don't think we've seen the finished doghouse. Your interior is one of the nicest.

On behalf of the mob, I apologize, you should have been in the SOTY, again, beautiful boat!

No sweat. Probably 'cause I've been dragging this thing out for years :)

The doghouse is done but I have not dropped it off for upholstery yet. I'll go out once I stop off at the boat in the next couple of weeks to check on it.

I'm also looking for a deal on a removable ladder...after I pickup a .223 rifle this weekend....not that the two are related in any way :)

Good to see you back posting in your thread Sprinter. Just don't point that .223 thing at the F-18s - they retaliate big time! :)

Chomping at the bit to get back at it. I'd love to start the dash and get it done before May long weekend.

Picked up the .223 for punching holes in paper. Selling a M-14 knockoff as well so I'll have some extra cash for a kicker motor. The fish are in trouble this summer...

Still waiting for enough snow to melt to get the boat from rv storage yard and two new tires and wheel bearings go on. Can't wait to get out on the water again.

The boat is finally back in the driveway. Going to test fit the engine cover before it goes off to upholstery if it ever stops raining. New tires will get bolted on as well as some trailer guides that have been sitting in a shed for the last year.

Back again. Bolted on some guides to the trailer, changed trailer bearings, and added some cool new radial tires. Went fishing and caught 8 lake trout and am hoping to do more of the same later this week. I'll also pull the dash apart before freezeup and will try to fabricate an aluminum dash/console using a metal brake if i can get all the angles. Should be pretty slick if I get it right.

Here's my post on another part of the forum about winterizing with the leg in a rain barrel of rv coolant. Feel free to chime in on my crazy idea.

8 lake trout. Where? I don't see any.

I'm with the non-freezing air, but if you have rusty crud in the Spring, I can see why you want to go with the RV antifreeze.

It's true. It doesn't exist without pics. I'll dig up some of the various camera phone pics...good thing you reminded me as I need to get them in the archives as well.

I'm still alive. Not sure if I posted that I added some new wheel bearings and tires before putting her away for the winter. Ordering some Carling illuminated rocker switches for the dash do-over in aluminum... Hopefully it warms up enough for me to get the boat back in the driveway and start mocking up the bends for the dash so I can get back in the water before the start of the season...or ice out over here.
