78 70 HP Johnson Sea horse

Hi I just purchased a this engine without a manual. Does anybody know where to purchase an original or a very good Repro. manual? Also what type/weight of gear oil goes in the leg. and what is the best way to change the trim oil procedure). Does the Sea Horse mean that it can run in salt water or is it a generic name? Any help would be appreciated!

There are manual available at the top of this page where it says Helpful Links. Look to the right and click on manuals. Get tube(s) of lube at your dealer. Remove both flathead screw on lower unit. Fill from the bottom until it comes out the top. Replace top screw then bottom. Seahorse has been Johnson's brand name for a long time. Has nothing to do with salt water.
