78 johnson 200 trim

I have a 78 Johnson 200 that is having a trim problem. There is no sound when i hit the button. It is stuck in the down position. I have not looked closely at it recently, but just thought I would post and ask first.

Check the switch , solenoid, wiring between the two , etc. etc.

Get a manual, the test procedures are in it.

You'll be best off getting the manual.

It will have the schematic for the trim/tilt system in it.

As well as trouble shooting procedures.

These models have the separate trim electrical box, mounted under the spashwell. Check the fuse in the box, first of all. It is located in a red rubber connector. If the fuse is OK, check the solenoid. That could be the culprit.
